Turquoise and Denim Under The New Mexico Skies

The June 2016 Fundraiser for the New Mexico Governor's Mansion Foundation.

The New Mexico Governor’s Mansion Foundation was honored to host the son, grandson and great-grandsons of former Governor Edwin L. Mechem at a recent tour of the Residence. Starting in 1961, Governor Mechem served as New Mexico’s 15th, 17th and 19th chief of state. Mechem was born in Alamagordo, NM.

Mechem’s son Walter brought his family to the Residence, and the visit prompted many fond memories of his youth, including recollections of time spent as a five year old at the Residence.  Volunteer Docent Kathy Dickerson led the tour.
